Hi Peak Fitness Athletes,
December has started and so has our new challenge- to be active for 30 minutes per day for 30 days.
I want to share this workout I did this morning. I have been sticking to the treadmill (hill intervals) or stairmaster as I haven’t been able to do much high impact exercise, such as running or plyometrics. Today I wanted to switch it up a little. I challenge you to complete this workout! I used a medicine ball to add extra resistance for the squats, but you can hold onto a set of dumbbells or just use your own body weight.
Warm up:
5 minutes
Workout:
10 Mountain climbers
10 Stationary lunges- left leg leading
10 Stationary lunges- right leg leading
10 Jump in/out in push-up position
10 Plank star jumps (hold plank position and jump feet out wide, then back to start positon- sort of like a jumping jack)
10 Bicycle crunches (to each side)
10 Wide squats (holding a medicine ball)
10 Narrow squats
10 Burpees
10 V-sit toe touches
Complete 10 rounds. I decided to do either 10 rounds, or 45 minutes worth… whatever would come first. Thankfully the 10 rounds came first.
I spent the next few minutes laying flat out on the mat. Why are exercise mats sooo comfy?
My time was 35:26. What is yours?
